Background Of DECC

Decc which is “Development Concern Centre”, was established and registered with the Department of Registrar’s General in 2005.The Organisation was registered as a voluntary Non-Governmental Organisation to undertake developmental activities in both rural and urban areas. The Organisation is committed to the enhancement of the socio economic status of rural people. Decc has trained and assisted rural people to keep Bees, provided Bee Hives to rural people, assisted needy children to benefit from formal education, worked with cultural groups, traditional dancers, local film actors, drama groups and identified some tourists’ attraction sites in the Northern region of Ghana. As part of Decc’s social responsibility, Decc has assisted marginalised women to carry out Income Generating Activities.

Goal

The major goal of DECC is to help mitigate rural poverty, suffering and hunger through the use of natural resources available and by working with international volunteers and donors.


Mission Of DECC.

To find ways and means to enhance the socio economic status of people in the Northern Region through the use of available human and natural resources.


Vision Of DECC.

The vision of DECC is to plant knowledge and assistance in urban and rural people to enable them recognise the vast amount of human and natural resources available in their various communities and use these human and natural resources wisely in the development of their communities and eventually become social and economic independence.


Advisory Board

Advisory Board of DECC comprises seven people. All the Board members are experienced and development oriented. They see to it that activities of DECC move on as expected. Democracy is well rooted in the Advisory Board. This enables the Advisory Board to quickly make decisions and reach consensus for policy implementation.



Operational Districts.

DECC operates in all the districts in the Northern Region of Ghana.
